Zip line off the Great Wall of China

February 8, 2011

Climbing up to the Great Wall of China is a workout in itself. The four mile hike on it is exhausting. So, instead of walking back down to ground level, why not zip line?

On the Simatai section of the Wall there is a zip line set up to take you across a river and on to a bank.  A boat will take you back to the base of the wall on the other side when you are done.

Not too many people opt to take the zip line down. It doesn’t look like they use the safest equipment in the world, but if you are brave enough to try, you will get a view of a lifetime.
